Why “keep everything” is a risk
Every stored conversation is something that can be breached, subpoenaed, or fall out of compliance later. GDPR's data-minimization principle pushes the other way: keep only what you need, only as long as you need it.
Retention as a setting
Pryvan retains chats for 12 months by default. Each workspace can shorten that to 3 months, 30 days, 7 days, or a custom window. Once set, deletion is automatic, no manual cleanup, no forgotten archives.
Different teams can run different policies: a legal team might keep a year, a support team a week.
Deletion you can prove
